Give developers and teams a simple, reliable place for the secrets their applications depend on, so they can ship without leaking them.
Who we are
Smart Vault is built by Smart Dev Agency S.A.S., a software company based in Colombia. We use Smart Vault in our own projects.
Why we built it
We kept finding secrets in .env files passed around in chat, in wikis and in version control, with no clear record of who changed what. Smart Vault puts them in one encrypted place, organized by app and environment, with access control, version history and an activity log.
What it does
- Organize variables and credential files by organization, app and environment.
- Control access with roles, per-environment permissions and read-only API keys for pipelines.
- Track changes with version history, rollback and an activity log.
- Deliver them to laptops and pipelines with the CLI.
How we approach security
We describe our protections plainly and only claim what the product does. Your content is encrypted at rest, and sensitive requests travel through a post-quantum encrypted channel. We do not hold security certifications yet. Read the Security Policy for the details.
What you can count on
- A clear account of how your data is protected, including its limits.
- You can export the variables you have access to at any time, as JSON or
.env. - We do not sell personal data.
- Payments are handled by Polar; we never see your card details.
